Psycho Gets Suspended Sentence

Not a Psycho…strong, independent woman!
Jilted saleswoman put her ex through revenge porn nightmare by posting explicit images of him online in first ever case of male partner being targeted. Guess what happened? Yep, suspended sentence. A UK specialty as it were.

Fascinating read here from First Things:

The problem with science is that so much of it simply isn’t. Last summer, the Open Science Collaboration announced that it had tried to replicate one hundred published psychology experiments sampled from three of the most prestigious journals in the field. Scientific claims rest on the idea that experiments repeated under nearly identical conditions ought to yield approximately the same results, but until very recently, very few had bothered to check in a systematic way whether this was actually the case. The OSC was the biggest attempt yet to check a field’s results, and the most shocking. In many cases, they had used original experimental materials, and sometimes even performed the experiments under the guidance of the original researchers. Of the studies that had originally reported positive results, an astonishing 65 percent failed to show statistical significance on replication, and many of the remainder showed greatly reduced effect sizes.

Old but worthy of inferno: Pizza shop worker loves Seattle’s new $15 minimum wage, until he finds out that it cost him his job.

Kesha Rape and Abuse Claims Against Dr. Luke Dismissed by Judge, also rules that “Her claims of insults about her value as an artist, her looks, and her weight are insufficient to constitute extreme, outrageous conduct intolerable in civilized society.”

The mother of a Tampa, Florida, seventh-grader is speaking out after finding an assignment given to her 12-year-old daughter and other students in Spanish class at Monroe Junior High. The form asked, “How much privilege do you have? Circle the boxes that apply to you.” The categories on the form listed “Race,” “Skin Color,” “Religion,” “Sex,” “Gender,” “Sexual Orientation” and “Disability.” The options under gender included, “cisgendered,” “transgendered” or “genderqueer.”

A South Carolina mom who let her 9-year-old nephew walk her 3-year-old son to the McDonald’s less than a quarter mile away has been—I’m sure you can finish this sentence in your sleep by now—arrested and charged with child neglect.

The latest female teacher busted for allegedly traumatizing a teenage male student with sex is Sara Domres. Domres, 28, faces criminal charges for having sex with a 16-year-old male student in a room at a Motel 6 — on the very same day her husband was having his bachelor party — and, on another occasion, in her car in a Park ‘n Ride lot.

Brocialist: a guy so in love with his own progressiveness or radicalness he is convinced he can do no wrong. This extends to being a sexist jerk.

But Hollywood is a long way from New Zealand. We were the first country in the world to give women the vote and we prided ourselves on female empowerment ever since. But I beg to differ. Since my first bruising rub up against brocialism, I’ve developed a radar for guys hiding sexism beneath a progressive smokescreen. Like the time my friend told me about a great guy she had met. He was in a band and worked in the left-wing political arena, but he wasn’t a hipster robot type. He was a nice guy. He even trolled misogynists on social media. Despite this it soon came to light that he had a girl in every port. Then, not long after that discovery, his workplace had to introduce a new anti-sexism policy simply because of the guy’s questionable behaviour around the office.

Date large, my friend…Date Large
